KERNE, 2018
Karacasu is a district located in the Aydın province of Turkey, in the Aegean Region. It is known for its pottery craftsmanship. Although the exact historical origins of this craft are unknown, it is known to have been a production center from ancient times to the present. Ceramic finds dating from the 5th century BC to the 5th century AD, discovered in the ancient city of Aphrodisias in the Geyre neighborhood of Karacasu, provide evidence that this craft was practiced in the region. The pottery tradition, which is now at risk of disappearing, continues in the Karacasu production center. In Karacasu, where nearly 30 pottery workshops (Kerne) are still operational, the forms of the pots produced have maintained their traditional and unique characteristics despite the advancement of technology. Today, approximately 50 households make their living from this craft.

Short Films
YAŞAMA(YA) DİRENEN KÖY, 2018
Çallı Village is a village in the Aegean Region, located in the Burhaniye district of Balıkesir. In the shadow of the ruined houses, eleven people are trying to continue their lives in the remaining five households.
This short film was featured in the "Short Films from Turkey" selection organized by Hezarfen Film Gallery and Yapımlab at the 41st International Clermont Ferrand Short Film Festival held in France in 2019. It was also included in the special selection at the 10th KINOLIKBEZ Independent Cinema Festival in St. Petersburg, Russia, the 8th BALKAN FILM FOOD Festival in North Macedonia, and the Lift-Off Global Network festival in London, in both the short film and documentary categories.
